2025 Sapphic Playlist
Lesbians love a good playlist!
A couple months into our relationship, James made me a playlist. I was delighted, but not surprised, because I was making one for them too.
When Pride Month rolled around, James told me they create a Queer Joy playlist every year to celebrate queer musicians (not just music queers love). I sent them songs to add as they built a playlist for 2024. Ever since then, my ear perks up when I hear about a musician who is trans or a band of dykes.
And now it’s December, and poof… I’ve got a playlist of new Sapphic songs that I now present to you.
It’s a pretty indie little list of lesser-known artists, with a few superstars sprinkled in.
Speaking of superstars, this is the year I took the leap from Brandi Carlile fan to Brandi Carlile SUPER FAN when James and I took a trip to see her at Red Rocks Amphitheater. It was a full-body spiritual experience. Bucket List stuff. So she’s on the list too. Obvi.

Anyway, enjoy!
Disclaimer: I believe each of these artists is queer. I did minimal research, so I could be wrong! After all, it’s really none of our business. Regardless, they’re all good. Give it a listen.
Oh! An if you love learning about new queer music too, check out Hanky Code by Rebecca. In posts like this or this, she highlights artists and songs worth adding to the rotation. Honestly, she’s the reason I know who Semler is… the same Semler who ended up being my most listened to artist of 2025.

yes to Cat Burns - love this, will have a listen!! 🩷
Great list, Jazmine - even for straight/feminist listeners ;) I am a fairly new member of the Bramily—Red Rocks with her would be amazing. I am going to see her (and the Indigo Girls) for the first time ever at The Gorge (Echoes Through the Canyon) in May. I am SO EXCITED!
